The sunburn has peeled away quickly.
We got new mattresses.
I am understanding Spanish, 3rd day
Today an Elder was having a hard time. He hopped the fence
and went and called his sister who was not there and then his mother, who told
him to stay 2 more days. He had previously been given a blessing. He
talked to the dl today, about it. The dl thought he was joking. He talked to
the zl. They were busy so he went and jumped the fence. When we went looking
for him the zls found him. He just hopped back over the fence. He is talking to the branch presidency now. I don't know what will happen
to his companion. His companion lost him when we were sucked into Spanish
learning on the computer. He was sent home Saturday at 4:30
Today we taught a lesson and my mind was actually thinking.
I was actually able to speak a good amount.
We actually committed him to be baptized. It was a success where as last
time we asked Paco if he wanted to be baptized but we really did not teach
anything that he needed. Actually, we did, but it didn't feel like the spirit was
there. This time we actually accomplished something.
This week there has been high security because they have
been training 120 new mission presidents. Several apostles have been at the MTC
under high security. They had an extra devotional for this occasion of Friday
at 4:30. We were there 45 min early and still could not get a seat in the main
room. We had to watch it on a screen in another room. All the front seats were
taken by the mission presidents. 1/4 of the rest was the choir. 1/2 was for
missionaries who needed translators. There was probably only room for 200
missionaries out of 2000. We could not get there any earlier because we had
class.
My companion owns one of the original 5000 books of Mormon.
Elder Richards is a descendent of Joseph Smith Senior. He is either
a decedent of Hyrum or Joseph.
I have said before, that the food here gives everyone gas. It
seems to be at the center to all of our conversations. I am pretty much not
included in any of this because I seem to be the only one that still has solid
poop. Common phrases I keep hearing are, "Here it comes,"
"Its gonna blow," "My butt itches," "Oohh MAN! that
reeks.” One time the teacher left the room and everyone let it rip. When our
teacher came back 30 min later he walked in, had a disgusted look then walked
out. I have been having problems with the food too, but now I have figured it
out. I go for everything Mexican, salads, eggs, and Grape Nuts cereal. I am now
feeling great.
We switch out our bed sheets every week for clean ones.
